LEGL 270 - Real Estate Law I Course Description: Legal assistants are expected to have an understanding of legal principles and procedures relating to the purchase and sale of residential property in Alberta. You will explore a variety of real estate terms and principles, including real property, fixtures, chattels, estates or interests in land, and statutes affecting land. You will also study procedures related to the Torrens System, land title registry, real estate purchase contracts, caveats, searches, transfers of land and how these processes relate to the duties of lawyers and legal assistants.
