PTPR 1255 - Overview of the Canadian Oil and Gas Industry

Course Description:
This course is designed for non-science students to increase their literacy in a highly technical field. It provides a perspective of the oil industry as a whole, as well as potential roles that support the industry. Topics will include an overview of global energy markets, the role of the oil industry in the Canadian economy, and differences between the Canadian and international petroleum industries. Also discussed are the sources of oil and gas and how it is brought to market, and the future of the oil industry in Canada.
