DSGN 301 - Electrical Design Principles Course Description: The designing of buildings and facilities is a requirement of most construction projects. This first level design course provides theoretical and practical electrical design concepts for commercial facilities, lighting and motor control applications. The concepts of facility electrical design are explored in the context of the current Canadian Electrical Code and enhanced using AutoCAD software as a drafting and design aid. State of the practice design techniques are analyzed and applied. Completion of a major project incorporates analysis, calculation and design competencies.
