CIVL 255 - Civil Drafting and Surveying Course Description: This course introduce students to fundamental drafting and survey techniques. Topics that will be covered are creating basic and complex drawings using computer aided design and drafting (CADD) software, orthographic projections, isometrics, sections, geometric constructions, technical sketching techniques, the care and use of survey equipment, how to measure angles and distances, and how to calculate horizontal distances, elevation differences and coordinates of points. Specifications for the establishment of survey markers will be presented. By the end, students will be able to apply drafting techniques to create drawings using CADD, perform a traverse survey and adjustment and determine its accuracy.
