FLDS 255 - Industrial Fluid Systems

Description
This course explores the principles of fluid mechanics as applied to flowing systems in the chemical process industry. Topics include: unit conversion, viscosity, buoyancy, fluid pressure measurement and calculation, pump affinity laws and specifications, energy calculations (compressible and incompressible flow) pump power requirements and net positive suction head (NPSH). Various fluid flow and pressure measurement devices are evaluated.
