ITSC 300 - IT Security Fundamentals


Description
This course introduces learners to the field of IT security. Learners will begin the course by exploring fundamental concepts such as security controls and attacker profiles to gain knowledge about what they are protecting and from whom they are protecting. A learner will then move onto analyzing threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigations to understand weaknesses in networks and systems and how they can be overcome. Following that, learners will explore cryptography and its role in securing data. Finally, risk assessment will enable learners to understand governance, compliance, and risk management and how these concepts can be used to build strong security policies for a business to keep data, networks, and systems safe from attack
