LDSH 301 - Leadership Practices in Early Childhood Education Description In this course, you will develop practices and skills in administrative, organizational, and pedagogical leadership, and develop an image of an effective Early Childcare Education (ECE) leader. Through self-reflection, you’ll identify your strengths and areas for growth, and develop a personal leadership philosophy and professional learning goals. You’ll examine the whole leadership approach and be introduced to basic financial principles, program design, risk management, and human resources practices that are relevant to managing ECE organizations. By exploring pedagogical practices, including coaching and mentoring, you’ll learn how to support ECEs and develop a respectful workplace culture. This course also includes topics in effective communication, team building, collaboration, and management skills for emerging leaders in ECE settings.
