RFRG 201 - Foundational Skills and Workplace Safety Description This course introduces you to the safety legislation, regulations and industry policy required for work in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) industry. You’ll explore the scope, purpose and application of mechanical refrigeration, gas, electrical, plumbing, building and environmental codes relevant to the trade. You’ll get hands-on practice selecting, using and maintaining hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments, including oxyfuel equipment, and welding and cutting tools. You’ll also examine how to interpret the basic technical drawings and schematics used in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.
