Program Description

Everyone wants to be productive when using computers on the job.  The key to success is having fundamental skills using the latest technology especially when returning to the workforce or entering the workforce for the first time.  Geared for those with no formal training or minimal current computer knowledge, this program creates a foundation of skills and confidence to:

  • Begin a career that requires current Microsoft Office experience; or

  • Continue with more advanced computer studies.

In this program, you will work independently on your own designated computer with freedom to explore, and without the fear of ruining someone else’s work.  Learning from and teaching one another in the classroom setting invites a collaborative approach that is safe and encouraging.  Step-by-step exercises, instructor-led demonstrations, and relevant project applications inspire the curiosity to discover more features and more solutions.  You might begin the program without knowing how to turn a computer on or use a keyboard, but you’ll leave knowing how to install software and effectively use word processing, spreadsheet, database applications, and more.
