Electrical Design

Program Description

Designed for people who want to begin a career with engineering companies that provide electrical design for commercial and industrial applications. Students must complete all six courses to obtain certification. Courses should be taken in the sequence listed below. It is recommended that students have strong English language skills, grade 12 math or equivalent and basic calculator skills and strong computer skills.

Students must complete the program declaration form before entering into the Electrical Design certificate.

Progression

You have up to five years to complete all certificate courses. You must meet the graduation requirements as they exist at the time you register for your first course (see AC.3.1.1 Grading and Progression).

• ELEC 143 - Electrical Essentials
• BCPT 239 - Project Management and Microsoft Project
• DSGN 001 - Electrical Design - Level I
• DSGN 002 - Electrical Design - Level II

• *The distance ELEC-143 course contains a mandatory 8-hour lab component that must be completed on campus over a designated weekend.
