Program Description


The Pipeline Monitoring Certificate of Achievement program prepares graduates to monitor in compliance with industry standards and regulations. This program provides learners with a foundational knowledge of pipeline systems, operations, and equipment. Areas of study are focused on day to day operations and monitoring requirements and includes foundational knowledge on: design, construction, leak detection, flow measurement, integrity, and maintenance of pipelines.  In addition to the Pipeline Monitoring role, there are other operational roles that will benefit from completing this certificate, including: Maintenance Mechanics, Operation Technicians, Compressor Station Operators, Compressor Mechanics/Operators, Integrity Technologists, Instrumentation Technicians, Electrical Technicians, Welders/Welding Technicians, Valve Maintenance Technicians, Equipment Operators and Environmental Technicians.  Career seekers with no previous pipeline training/experience will benefit greatly from completing this program as it will help them to become more effective in their jobs within the pipeline industry.  This program is a sub section of the Pipeline Operations Program focused on Pipeline Monitoring.  Successfully completing this program will enable a candidate to completing the remaining five courses within Pipeline Operations Program.

Progression


Students must attain a PGPA and/or a CGPA of 2.0 or better in each semester and pass the necessary prerequisite courses to progress through the program. To qualify for graduation students must pass all courses and attain a CGPA of 2.0 or better and complete course requirements within the prescribed timelines.
