Industrial Maintenance and Operations

Program Description


Students will gain technical knowledge about safe operations of equipment at oil and gas processing facilities. Learners will study fundamentals of electrical technology, industrial instrumentation controls, and process equipment including topics in design, operations, and maintenance. Courses in static and rotating equipment, prime movers and drivers, as well as piping and pipelines comprise the mechanical portion of the program. Learners will gain knowledge of process measurement, telecommunication, and control systems to provide them with foundational knowledge in instrumentation. Learners will study power generation and supply, electrical safety, and protection systems as part of their electrical training as well as other topics that will give them skills required for safe operation of processing facilitates.

Progression


Students must attain a PGPA and/or a CGPA of 2.0 or better in each semester and pass the necessary prerequisite courses to progress through the program. To qualify for graduation students must pass all courses and attain a CGPA of 2.0 or better and complete course requirements within the prescribed timelines.
