Program Description
Discover the theory of sound and learn how to work effectively with today’s digital audio hardware and software. You’ll learn how to prepare the environment, select and position microphones, interconnect equipment and record music and sounds and effectively process and modify those recordings using the latest digital technologies. You’ll learn how to record, edit, apply digital signal processing, mix and master a variety of digital audio projects. Students must take eight courses in total; three core courses plus five electives. This certificate is also offered in a 7-week full-time Fast-Track delivery during July and August each year.

Progression
You have up to five years to complete all certificate courses. You must meet the graduation requirements as they exist at the time you register for your first course (see AC.3.1.1 Grading and Progression). Admission Requirements
There are no entrance requirements for this program. You can begin registering for courses anytime by clicking a course name or calling 403-284-7248. Once you have registered for at least one course and have a SAIT student ID number, consider filling out and submitting the Program Declaration Form to the Office of the Registrar. Contact information for the Office of the Registrar is located in the upper corner of the form. |
