Program Description
Designed for people who want to begin a career with engineering companies that provide electrical design for commercial and industrial applications. Students must complete all six courses to obtain certification. Courses should be taken in the sequence listed below. It is recommended that students have strong English language skills, grade 12 math or equivalent and basic calculator skills and strong computer skills.
Students must complete the program declaration form before entering into the Electrical Design certificate.

Program Overview

You have up to five years to complete all certificate courses. You must meet the graduation requirements as they exist at the time you register for your first course (see AC.3.1.1 Grading and Progression). Program Outline
- BCPT 011 - Project Management and Microsoft Project 0 credits
- CADD 219 - Digital Drafting Fundamentals 3 credits
- DSGN 001 - Electical Design - Level I 0 credits
- DSGN 002 - Electrical Design - Level II 0 credits
- ELEC 143 - Electrical Essentials 0 credits *The distance ELEC-143 course contains a mandatory 8-hour lab component that must be completed on campus over a designated weekend.
