Program Description


Learn what it takes to become a successful manager. Develop essential management skills through courses in leadership development, project management, organizational behavior, financial management and more. Courses are available through part-time studies (evenings, weekends and online) and are transferable to SAIT’s Business Administration (Management) diploma. You have up to five years to complete this program.

Our management training program is all about equipping you with skills that are in-demand for today’s rapidly changing business world. The business management courses in this program lay the foundation for success as a manager, covering business communications, human resources management, financial accounting and project management training.

We know you’re busy. Enjoy the flexibility and convenience offered in this management certificate program. Choose from a variety of classes that best suits your availability and interests. This certificate is available through Continuing Education (evening and weekend courses) and Distance Education (online courses).

Program Overview


Your Career

Students graduating from this program may be eligible for entry-level positions such as:

  • Human Resources Assistant
  • Project Administrator
  • Sales Associate
  • Retail Manager
  • Office Manager

Laddering and Transferability

At SAIT, you have the flexibility to complete your academic achievements at your own pace. We will help you build an educational future that meets your career goals. You can transfer these courses to the full-time or part-time Business Administration diploma (Management major).

Student Success

  • You must be able to read, write, and understand the English language at a level exceeding basic conversational English.

Note: This program is eligible for the Canada-Alberta Job Grant.

Progression


You have up to five years to complete all certificate courses. You must meet the graduation requirements as they exist at the time you register for your first course (see AC.3.1.1 Grading and Progression).

Admission Requirements


There are no entrance requirements for this program. Be sure you have your SAIT student ID ready; you can begin registering for courses anytime by visiting our website, SAIT.ca. Need help getting your SAIT student ID number? Call Office of the Registrar at 1.877.284.7248.

After you have registered for one course, fill out and submit the Program Declaration Form to Office of the Registrar.

You have up to five years to complete all certificate courses; you must meet the graduation requirements as they exist at the time you register for your first course (see AC.3.1.1 Grading and Progression).

Program Outline


Courses for this program are available through Continuing Education, offered in the evenings and weekends and the Distance Education program (online).

Evening and weekend courses are offered in January, May and/or September.  Online courses are offered up to 12 times per year; start dates vary.

Registration is as follows:

  • Fall enrollment opens in July
  • Winter enrollment opens in October
  • Spring enrollment opens in February

Online registration closes about one week before the course start date. You can register up to one business day before the start date by calling 403.284.7248 or 1.877.284.7248. Courses fill up quickly; it is recommended you register early.

Four core courses and four electives are required to complete the program.

  • COMN 222 - Communication and Presentation Skills 3 credits
  • MNGT 255 - Introduction to Management 3 credits
