Description
AutoCAD is a world-leading software application for computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting. AutoCAD skills are the foundation of rewarding careers in a range of industries from architecture and engineering to interior design. You will learn to produce 2D and 3D drawings on a Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) using AutoCAD software. This intensive course includes all the content from AutoCAD Levels I, II and III.
You will start learning the basics of AutoCAD such as user interface, commands, system variables, AutoCAD drawings, drawing theory, initial settings, drawing objects, constructing and editing 2D geometry, correcting errors, object verification, measurement, controlling graphic display, grids, text, layers, and object symbology.
You will advance quickly to producing more sophisticated 2D drawings. You will learn how to complete grips, crosshatching advanced measurement, utility commands, blocks, special entities, advanced settings, viewports, advanced text, dimensioning, reference files, polylines, printing and plotting.
You will finish this intensive series by learning to create 3D models and multiview drawings. You will be able to complete isometric drawing, drawing with extrusions, XYZ point filters, world and user coordinate systems, 3D wireframes, viewing 3D models, model and paper space, creating and scaling views, setting view layer visibility, constructing multiview drawings, surfacing with vertex defined meshes and polygon meshes.
Students are required to purchase the mandatory course materials at the SAIT Bookstore (approximate cost is $110).
