Program Description


Building Information Modeling (BIM) has the power to change the way the building industry works and knowledge of BIM will help you build a rewarding career in architecture, construction, engineering or interior design. You’ll learn the concepts and technical skills of BIM and the Revit software that will allow your firm to take advantage of this major evolution in building design tools, from the fundamentals of creating construction documents and 3D architectural project models to more advanced features, such as conceptual design and BIM management.

Professional Designations and Certifications

Become an Autodesk Certified User (ACU) or Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) by completing an Autodesk exam at SAIT.

A number of courses in this program have been approved for education and training credits towards Gold Seal Certification.

There are no entrance requirements for this program. You can begin registering for courses anytime by clicking a course name or calling 403-284-7248. Once you have registered for at least one course and have a SAIT student ID number, consider filling out and submitting the Program Declaration Form to the Office of the Registrar. Contact information for the Office of the Registrar is located in the upper corner of the form.

You can take up to five years to complete all certificate courses and must meet the graduation requirements as they exist at the time that you register for the program’s first course (see AC.3.1.1 Grading and Progression).
