Program Description

Carpenters work in many areas of construction and you can learn to become one with this hands-on program. They are involved in residential, commercial, industrial or maintenance construction. Most carpenters are involved in reading blueprints, selecting materials and methods of work, measuring, cutting and joining materials. This 12-week program covers all course material received by a first-year carpenter apprentice, plus additional hands-on skills and safety training necessary for you to work on an actual job site. The program will prepare you to enter the workforce and become an apprentice. On successful completion of the program, there is an option to write the first-year Carpenter apprenticeship exam.
